LAM Design is a small sole trader business, formed in 1997, located in Shropshire, England (UK) that offers a very personal and highly skilled couture dressmaking services to customers.

We design and make to order, made-to-measure, uniquely designed, bridal, evening and day wear and other garments for ladies and children including cloaks, coats and waistcoats.

As we offer custom made clothes, we can cater for any specialist requirements. Most of our work is to make wedding dresses (or wedding gowns), bridesmaids’ dresses, flowergirl dresses, mother of the bride dresses, evening dresses, prom dresses, cocktail dresses.

We also make ladies’ suits, blouses, skirts, trousers, coats, cloaks, capes, party dresses and confirmation dresses. We have also made some clerical dresses.

Although we mostly focus on ladies, we also make some things for men and boys including waistcoats, cravats, cummerbunds and ties.

We cater for women of all shapes and sizes including those with a larger figure or the petite.

Most of the clothes we make require several fittings before being completed and handed over to our customers. We do offer waistcoats, ties, cloaks and a few other loose fitting items by mail order.

We carry no stock dresses or other garments and do not have a fixed set of designs. A dress designer will spend time talking over with you what you are looking for, looking at any examples you may have such as cuttings from magazines (combining elements from several different pictures) to agree exactly the look you are after and what will work best for you. A dress maker (dressmaker)will then make up a mock up (toile) of the dress or garment in the case of the more expensive garments and a number of fittings
will be carried out to ensure a perfect fit.

We are located NW of Birmingham close to the M6 and M54 motorways and service customers from Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire, West Midlands, East Midlands, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Wales. We also have customers who visit us from further away including London and many customers who buy by mail order from overseas including France and the USA.

We do not offer a paper catalogue or brochure. We custom make everything and this site only shows a small sample of our work. Please contact us for additional information, clarification or queries.

We will not produce identical versions of any of the garments shown on this web site. We want to provide unique garments to each customer. We can produce garments with similar designs.

We do not sell patterns.

We do not do alterations to garments that you have not purchased from us.
